To operate legally, you need to prepare your Terms and Privacy Policy and make them available to your customers before you start selling. If you already have the documents ready, all you need to do is add them to your checkout.
To add document links to your checkout:
- Go to the Checkout → Legal and refunds tab
- Open the Terms & Privacy section
- In the Terms link field, add the URL pointing to your terms
- In the Privacy policy link field, add the URL pointing to your privacy policy
Important! If your terms and privacy policy are the same for all your products, you can set them globally in your account settings.
If you don’t have your Terms and Privacy Policy yet, you can generate and host them using Easylegal.
To generate the documents and add them to your checkout:
- Go to the Checkout → Legal and refunds tab
- Open the Terms & Privacy section
- Select the Generate Easylegal option
- Choose an existing Easylegal project or click + Create new terms and policy
Important! Your Easylegal document project must have the Published status for us to be able to display your documents in the checkout.
If you choose + Create new terms and policy, make sure to review your documents before publishing them. Just click Edit in Easylegal and we will take you to Easylegal, where you can freely adjust your documents - for example, specify whether you collect marketing consents - so they match your store.
